Texas State Representative Bill Zedler has introduced House Bill 2454, a bill which will prevent any public institution of higher learning in Texas from "discriminating against or penalizing in any manner" any faculty member or student based on the individual's conduct of research into Intelligent Design or Creationism.
The bill... [in part]...reads:
"This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2011."
